Candy Cane Christmas Cookies
The candy cane Christmas cookies are very unique and also great for Christmas parties or family get togethers. Shown above are ways you can use this cookie as a place setting. The first picture shows how you can decorate the plate and use the cookie for a place setting along with the story of the candy cane. When your guests are finished eating their meal, they can have the cookie for dessert.
Here is what you will need:
3/4 cup of oleo
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups of flour
1/4 teaspoon of salt
red food coloring
Heat oven to 375, cream shortening and sugar, add egg & vanilla. Mix in flour and salt. Divide dough in half. Blend red food coloring in one half.
Roll 1 teaspoon of red dough and 1 teaspoon of regular dough. Place the strips side by side and press lightly together, then twist. Bake on cookie sheet for 9 minutes or until lightly brown. Mix together 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of crushed peppermint mix together and sprinkle on warm cookies. #candycaneplacesettings

Hard Candy – Remind us that Jesus is like a “Rock”, strong and dependable
Peppermint Flavor – Is like the gift of spices from the wise men
White Candy – Stands for Jesus as the holy, sinless Son of God

Cane- Is like a staff used by shepherds in caring for sheep
Jesus is our “Good Shepherd”
The letter J- Is for the name of Jesus, our Savior
The Color Red – Is for God’s love that sent Jesus, and Jesus’ love in giving his life for us on the cross

The Stripes – Remind us of Jesus’ suffering – His crown of thorns, the wounds in is hands and feet, and the cross on which he died.
